KathyinCostaRicaJuly 23, 2020.Outstanding location, impeccable service The hotel is located just across a pedestrian bridge from the marina which is the center of tourist activity containing numerous restaurants, shops, and street entertainment, a great place to walk around. Even befor you enter the elegant lobby the smiling staff is lined up waiting to greet you and attend to your every need. Our room was quite spacious and the large bathrom had a shower stall and separate tub. Breakfast (included in our tour) was from the menu supplemented by a buffet spread of breads, pastries, cheeses, and fruit. We ate at the restaurant one night when we were too exhausted from the day's activities to walk and the food was top-rate. THE place to stay in Capetown.Dani UApril 26, 2020.Luxurious, excellent service and well located Our travel agency Africa Travel Resources suggested this lovely hotel. We had a quiet and spacious room with a small balcony, facing Table Mountain and the marina. Very well appointed from scented spray for the bathroom, to laundry detergent, sanitizer, hand lotion plus all the regular you find in a 5 stars. This hotel offers impeccable service, it’s a great testimony to the South African hospitality. They even reached out to me before my arrival, helping us organize tickets to Robben Island with which I was having an issue. Stacey at the concierge desk took the time to respond to my emails more than once guiding me to reserve those tickets. Fabulous service even before arrival! We were met at the airport by one of their chauffeur. If thereafter, you would like to take advantage of their free chauffeur service, do reserve in advance or you might be disappointed. We learned this the first day and then started reserving a day or two in advance and were able to take advantage of this service. The lobby is lovely and each time you enter, whether it’s the porters opening the doors or the reception area personnel, they all make you feel like a very special guest. The hotel is within walking distance to the waterfront with all its restaurants, shops, ferry to Robben Island, mall, supermarket in the basement mall (Pic and Pay) and the Victoria and Alfred market with different shops and eating offerings artisan ice cream, nuts, thai food, pizza and more, better than your regular fast foods. The included breakfast was amazing. A buffet with lots to offer, fresh fruits: (mix mangoes with raspberries absolutely delicious),juices, smoothies, pastries of all sorts, cheeses, meats, custard and far more. The hot breakfast portion can be customized to your liking. Nothing is ever a problem, they will prepare what your heart desires. I would have poached eggs with hollandaise sauce and avocado on the side…even if it wasn’t on the menu. Cape Grace Hotel would be my first choice hotel next time I return to Cape Town.adalbert3April 4, 2020.Like the location The rooms are decent-sized--we always appreciate the double sinks in the bathroom with ample space for two people to spread out their toiletries. Be sure to book a room with a view of the marina--when we walked up to our window we could get a view to the left of Table Mountain. The property has a good restaurant (Signal Restaurant--had a wonderful dinner there, as well as very nice breakfasts every morning) and a fun bar (Bascule Bar). All staff at the hotel were extremely personable and helpful--every one was very anxious to please. We really appreciated the hotel being close to all the stores, restaurants and action down by the water front. Check out my photos for more details.43ChicagoMarch 30, 2020.I am being charged $900US or a cancelled room Awful. Simply put. We had to cancel travel due to the outbreak and travel restrictions. I was told I would get a refund after several emails back and forth as the hotel wanted to keep my $6000 and offer me future travel. Not ok. I was told I would be given a refund. After several weeks a refund was issued but $900 was not. I am told this is because the exchange rate has changed. Unbelievable. During a global emergency they are being extremely unfair and greedy. We have family fighting the pandemic on the front lines, in the hospitals and this is not something we can spend time fighting. I find the staff dismissive, greedy and uncaring. Never will we stay here.MikeMarch 22, 2020.Service above and beyond! An oasis of tranquility in an unsettled time I can't say enough positive things about this wonderful hotel!! From our first greeting upon arrival until the last farewell at departure, every individual at this hotel provided a quality of service and attention to detail that exceeded our expectations. A special shout out to Stacy at the concierge desk who gave us 3 terrific recommendations for dinner. A real plus for the hotel is they have a complimentary Mercedes and driver who will take to you locations within 10km of the hotel. We used this service a lot to go to Table Mountain, to church and to a restaurant. The location of the hotel is perfect and safe - within walking distance to the V&A waterfront. The room was very well appointed and large. The fitness center was nice - hand sanitizer as well as towels and water. The breakfast was out of this world, and the servers in the restaurant would always put a smile on the face of this weary traveler. Among the best hotel stays in my life.George OMarch 20, 2020.Lives up to its reputation! Our first time in Cape Town in 30 years. It has changed! All of our investigation led to the conclusion that Cape Grace was the best hotel in Central. We were not disappointed. An excellent establishment in every way. The Restaurant, for breakfast and for dinner is truly first class! My only comment is that one half of the hotel has a better view than the other half. When visiting again, I would for sure ask in advance for a Table Mountain view. [They were kind enough to move us after the first night.]Marcenlinda2015March 19, 2020.Superb service! Dear reader, This is not a moment to be happy and write nice TripAdvisor feedbacks. However the staff in CAPE GRACE deserve some support. Although the virus is hitting our global world all the staff in CAPE GRACE hotel are committed to the guest with a genuine smile and exceptional service. We specifically want to thank Bheki and Mennard, not off course all the hotel staff, for their great service at our breakfast this morning. Stay tuned guys and hope the virus will be overwon. We will all prevail!! All the best!slj60March 8, 2020.Classy and Classic We spent six nights at the Cape Grace hotel and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. This was our first visit to South Africa and I wanted a hotel that was central and safe but with good views and the Cape Grace was the perfect choice. Communication I emailed the hotel before we arrived as we had booked a terrace room on the 4th floor and requested a room with a view of table mountain. The hotel was quick to reply and said whilst they couldn't guarantee this they would certainly make note of the request. When we arrived we checked in and were shown to our room with a lovely view of the Marina and Table Mountain. Our Room Soon after we arrived the hotel sent us up a bottle of Graham Beck sparkling wine, one of our favourties and some chocolates. A lovely welcome from the management. The room was not huge but was very comfortable with lovely furnishings and a really comfortable bed. The terrace had a good view of Table Mountain, but the only problem is the sun sets on this side of the hotel so if you want to sit out on the terrace late afternoon there is bright sunlight and no shade. The bathroom was very well equipped with lovely toiletries and off that was a large walk in wardrobe, we did have to ask for more hangers but then we always do, iron and ironing board, and off this was a dressing room with dressing table which was very useful. The room was lovely, peaceful, and beautifully serviced twice a day. The chocolates at turn-down service were delicious and one day our maid left extra because I told her I love nougat. If we stat at the Cape Grace again I would look at booking one of the suites that has as they have larger terraces and one has a water tub. Restaurant Breakfast is excellent. A really superb buffet table with an array of fruit, porridge, jams, marmalade, cheeses etc. Definitely one of the best breakfast tables in any hotel we have stayed at. There is also a very good cooked menu which my husband ordered from and said was excellent. Lunch We did book in for the legendary Sunday Brunch but had to cancel because the bride whose wedding we were attending organised a 'meet my family' lunch at her uncles house. I was sorry we couldn't do Brunch at the hotel because it did look fabulous. Dinner We had dinner the first night we arrived. One part of the restaurant is quite dark, I preferred sitting nearer the pool area which was lighter. There weren't many people in the restaurant and it lacked atmosphere. Our waiter was good but the family sitting close to us had a waiter who seemed to be more knowledgeable with regard to food choices and definitely wines, perhaps he was more senior but I can' t complain about the service we received at all. The Lounge My husband loved the lounge. It is very elegant and serves tea and coffee in the morning and complimentary port and sherry in the evening. The Pool Disappointing. It is very small so not really a swimming pool. I know they refurbished this a few years ago but it is now very enclosed and not inviting. It all felt a bit claustrophobic. The Spa Just gorgeous! I can't remember the name of my lovely therapist, she has a two year old little girl, but she was superb. I was ill for two days, nothing to do with the hotel and I had a massage on my last day. I have had massages all over the world in some of the world's best spas and this was definitely one of the best I have ever had. I'd stay there just to have another massage with her. Staff Some of the best staff we have encountered at any hotel. When you walked into the hotel after being out for the day the doormen greeted you with 'Welcome home' which was lovely. The drivers went above and beyond their duties. We were driven back from Kloof Street House one night and we had a single lady in our party who was staying at the One and Only. Our driver offered to take her back rather than she wait for a taxi because her hotel couldn't get a car to her. He had another pick up to do but rather than leave a single lady in the middle of Kloof Street he took her back with us. Overall This is a really classic and classy hotel, as are the guests who frequent it. The flower arrangements are absolutely spectacular and the staff very special. We loved Cape Town and I would happily return and recommend this wonderful hotel.Jane SeeviourMarch 4, 2020.A luxury hotel This hotel was my first experience of Cape Town and I couldn’t have chosen better. As a solo female traveller the area was safe and the V&A waterfront was a short walk away with all the street entertainment, restaurants and bars you could wish for. My room was immaculate and the restaurants I tried in the hotel provided imaginative menu choices with local touches.Britt-Marie HMarch 3, 2020.Toppen!! Perfekt service! Underbar miljö och vilken mat i restaurangen! Helt oslagbar! Vi hade underhållning av sjölejonen vid middagsbordet i solnedgången. Det kan inte bli bättre och vi kommer säkert tillbaka.
