Travellers will depart from Cape Town on a two-day adventure into the Karoo, travelling in a 13-seater luxury air-conditioned vehicle. This unique itinerary includes stops along the way, visiting some iconic landmarks and Anglo-Boer battle regions. Travellers can experience authentic South African culture and share stories with local winemakers and musicians of the Karoo plains. For the foodies, a taste of the local produce will satisfy the appetite, while wine lovers can enjoy an incredible insight into the area and local wine regions.
Visit some of Cape Town’s iconic landmarks of a by-gone era, following the story of early settlers. Afterwards, depart the Mother City on the legendary route through to Rawsonville.
Visit the unique Kirabo wine farm and meet the winemakers and indulge in the fruits of their labour. Think luscious reds, juicy biltong and red wine infused cupcakes.
Embark on an epic journey through the unique Klein Karoo. The two-and-a-half-hour journey is filled with stunning scenery and the intrigue of the undiscovered African plains of a by-gone era.
The majestic desert town of Matjiesfontein is truly frozen in time. Here, travellers can discover tales of legends and the famous Diamond explorers. A bizarre bus tour provides insight into the weird and wonderful town. In the evening, travellers can enjoy a traditional Karoo lamb braai (BBQ) under the stars followed by an odd night stroll.
After a hearty breakfast, travellers will head through the scenic and deserted Koo valley, stopping over at family-owned Oupa Batt’s shop. Here, the locals showcase how they make their biltong (cured meat), which is followed by a traditional potjiekos lunch, serving locals since 1915.
The final stop over is at the amazing Montague Dried Fruit & Nuts HQ, famous for their production in this area. Guests are welcome to purchase snacks and souvenirs to take home. The group also has the option to visit Route 62 Brewery for amazing handcrafted beers and gin, at an additional cost.
